Dan has been in the automotive business since 1969 when he was a tech and wrecker driver with Wink’s Towing. He then became a service tech at Barker in 1975. During that time, his aspirations to own a dealership became very real and he became a managing partner in 1985. Some 14 years later, he became the sole owner of Barker in 1999! Five years later, he purchased the Chevy store here in Lexington in 2004. Dan isn’t cut from the same cloth as other owners, he’s in the dealership daily. He does his own building maintenance. He delivers and picks up vehicles from all over the country with his own truck and trailer. You’ll even find him in the shop working with other techs on some vehicles whenever they need a hand. You won’t find that from many other large brand dealerships, if any!
